Barnsley Youth Jazz Orchestra had the pleasure of performing at Netherwood Christmas Fayre on Wednesday. The event had a number of stalls, was well attended and was full of festive cheer. 🎄⛄️

The Barnsley Youth Jazz Orchestra had a great time at Hesleywood activity centre.  They really enjoyed the cube and the crate stacking activities.  We had a great time and there were plenty of laughs along the way.

The Barnsley Youth Jazz Orchestra had a great afternoon at Thurnscoe Winter Wonderland. We played lots of Christmas tunes for the event as well as some of our usual repertoire which included Swing, Rock, Pop and Motown tunes. Well done everyone!

Swing Band goes bowling!

Swing band students had a great time at Barnsley Bowl tonight.

The bowling night was a reward for all their hard work and dedication over this half term. Well done team!

It was a fantastic concert Sunday night at the Holiday Inn Barnsley, featuring the Barnsley Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Barnsley Youth Swing Band, both bands played brilliantly.

Well done to all our featured soloists of the evening and congratulations to all of our students who passed their ABRSM instrument and theory exams.

As always the people of Looe weren’t quite expecting the tornado of fun and excitement hurling towards them at 60mph down the M5 at5am on July 16^th. The typical Cornish weather was once again on our side as dodgey sunburn lines were appearing the minute we stepped off the mini bus and continued for the rest of our holiday. No trip to Cornwall would be complete without fun on the beach from rounders to football and even digging holes, the gig to raise money for Looe Lifeboats and the latest trend of the year which was Pokemon Go. Its fair to say we provided the south coast with entertainment from shouts of ‘I’ve found a Jigglypuff’ and ‘What level is your Squirtle? Mines 155!’ Overall, another week packed full of fun was had by all.  Bring on 2017!

It was a great night at our annual presentation evening at the Holiday Inn.  The Jazz Orchestra played lots of new music that we have been learning over this last term which included Uptown Funk, All About That Bass & Rockin’ Lobster to name a few.

We saw lots of new faces in the Swing Band as this was for some members their first concert and they all performed really well.

Well done to all of our students who passed & collected their jazz exam certificates and obviously a big congratulations to Taylor and the rest of this years winners of the Holin Hammerton awards.

We had a great time at Hillsbourgh gala today and as luck would have it we managed to avoid the rain. The musicians played well and enjoyed a bit of free time eating chips & going on the rides. A good time was had by all. Well done everybody

It was a nice day this year at Ardsley gala so we were able to perform outside. All the kids enjoyed the activities at the gala especially the coconut shy where I think nearly all the kids won a coconut! Well done team!
